about
sometimes the simplest things are the most important and a treasure is just what you find and where you find it. this track is blessed by my dear friend cindy clasper and her gorgeous voice and by the playful saxophone of tommy murray. tom made a whole hell of a lot of music before he passed. his exuberance and ridiculous talent brought a community of players together and he left us all smiling through our tears.
lyrics
jimmy went digging
jimmy went digging and damned if he didn't
damned if he didn't strike dirt
by the shovel of night 'til you call
jimmy kept running and damned by the finger
damned by the palm full of dirt
a field stone fortune, the sparkle of quartz
won't keep your breakfast on legs, keep shaking
oh, legs go around
and it smells like a summer ago
and it feels like it feels on ice
and the moon in a bandage of clouds
occlude, your station is scrambled
jimmy fell apart at the dreams
and jimmy took just what it seems
to be true, here's looking at you
jimmy died singing, redeemed and relaxing
deep in his dark beloved dirt
a headstone memory, with charms of quartz
won't keep the rest of the world from shaking
the world keeps going round
and it smells like a summer ago
and it feels like it feels on ice
with the moon in a bandage of clouds
occlude, your station is losing, losing, losing
