this song was written and recorded in an afternoon shortly after the sudden passing of matt osborne, a truly stellar talent and a gentle giant of a man. matt passed in his sleep in his early 30s. he was one of the purest musical talents i've had the pleasure of sharing a stage with. there was nothing he couldn't sing or play but perhaps his greatest legacy after the songs he left for us was his generosity and encouragement for young players. search him out online, you will not be sorry to hear his voice. much love matt, miss you.
we were honoured to be joined on this track by our good friend arun pal who played drums in matt's band, arun laid down the drums and keyboards at his place, arun pal studios. thanks arun!
lyrics
sometime
well you know we all got to go sometime
and it's a crime when sometime comes too soon
so when you go, won't you blaze that path to glory
and when it's time we can follow you through
sometimes never more is what we question
sometimes ones we love are passing through
sometimes never more is all the reason
sometimes nothing more is left to do
when you look back down from where your going
sing a song and let your voice ring true
raise the wind for a duet with the thunder
and the rain will wash the tears we sing for you
sometimes never more is what we question
sometimes ones we love are passing through
sometimes never more is all the reason
sometimes nothing more is left to do
when the piper sounds the call for saints and sinners
and the hounds address the moon with doggie blues
then your song will echo on into the night time
and we'll all still sing along, along with you
sometimes never more is what we question
sometimes ones we love are passing through
sometimes never more is all the reason
sometimes nothing more is left to do
